The present study aims to examine the Qur’anic components of Imam Khomeini’s jihadi thought in Sahifeh-ye Noor and to elucidate its conceptual structure. The main research question asks what dimensions and components of Imam Khomeini’s jihadi thought are revealed through his Qur’anic references. The study adopts a qualitative approach, documentary research, and inductive qualitative content analysis. Qur’anic references found in Imam Khomeini’s speeches, messages, decrees, letters, and interviews were extracted and, after being cross-checked with the text of the Holy Qur’an, organized into initial codes, subcategories, and main categories. The findings identified four main categories: “divine and theological foundations,” “human development and inner transformation,” “social cohesion and Ummah-building,” and “jihad, resistance, and defense of Islam.” Alongside these categories, a more limited set of social and economic themes—including the rejection of usury and economic injustice, financial cooperation, and criticism of excessive materialism—was identified as complementary dimensions. The results indicate that Imam Khomeini’s jihadi thought is not confined to military action; rather, it is understood in relation to theological, ethical, social, and defensive components. The final model of the study represents these components as interrelated conceptual levels rather than as causal or linear stages.
